Marjorie Winslow Kehoe, Nancy McCall and Lisa A. Mix published an overview of the collection in their guide, The Legacy of Hugh Hampton Young: Pioneer in Urology (1991). It was produced with the generous assistance of Patrick Walsh, and the Johns Hopkins Department of Urology. ArchProteus converted the finding aid to the catalog in 2005.
Numerous individuals also assisted in this project. Dr. Walsh's sons Christopher and Alexander helped locate, pack and move the collection from the basement of the Brady Urological Institute to the Medical Archives. Maryrose Gans, Administrator for the Department of Urology, helped coordinate adminstrative aspects of the project. Susanne Ridenour prepared a preliminary inventory of the collection. Mary Todd Glazer of Northeast Document Conservation Center conducted a conservation assessment of the Young papers and advised on the long term preservation of the collection. Drs. William Wallace Scott, A. McGehee Harvey, Hugh Y. Rienhoff, and James Seamans served as resources as the Medical Archives staff processed and described the collection. Additional members of the Medical Archives staff who participated in this project include Constantinos Dukissis, Frances Dukissis, and Mary Garofalo.
