Kouwenhoven received his training in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and from the Technischule, Karlsruhe in Baden, Germany. He kept many of his student notebooks and laboratory workbooks (50 items, 1902-1912). The notebooks from Karlsruhe are written in German. Series also includes his dissertation, his diplomas, and a photograph album apparently dating from his student days in New York.
Series consists of boxes 2013-031-02 to 04.
