Cultural Properties Collections

There are over 10,000 objects in the Cultural Properties Collections. The dates of the materials range from the mid-nineteenth century to the present.

  Paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture, medals, plaques, textiles, and antique furnishings

  Drawings and prints by Max Broedel, Dorcas Padget, James Didusch, William Didusch, Leon Schlossberg and other illustrators associated with Johns Hopkins
  
  
• Architecture
  Drawings, blueprints, models, and elements from former and extant buildings
  
  
• Armamentarium of Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health
  Equipment, instrumentation, devices, uniforms, and other materials used in past research, teaching, and clinical practices of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions
  
  
• Memorabilia and Mementos
  Awards, pins, buttons, banners and assorted materials commemorating individual achievements and special events
  

All items in the Cultural Properties Collections are available for viewing. Many items are on display in buildings of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions while others are only accessible at the Medical Archives. Provenance files and other documentation relating to the history of the objects are available for reference and research in the Medical Archives.
