The Johns Hopkins Department of Medicine is creating a special room to memorialize the contributions of William Osler. The site of the room is where Osler wrote and edited his renowned textbook, The Principles and Practice of Medicine. It is located in the Billings Building of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Although historical materials will be displayed in the room, it will function primarily as a teaching and learning facility to perpetuate Osler’s ideals for medical education and practice.

The Department of Medicine invites you to participate in creating this tribute to William Osler through the donation of Osler memorabilia or financial support. The Osler Textbook Room must be supported entirely through private philanthropy. A listing of all donors will be maintained in the Osler Textbook Room.

Please join us in creating this tribute to Osler’s legacy. William Osler’s many significant contributions have set standards that continue to guide the entire field of medicine.
